We are coming.
We are coming for you.
We are coming for your children.
(but we will not touch them)
We will riot on your streets
(but no one will be hurt)
We will pillage your towns
(and leave it as it was, unchanged)
We will push aside your defensive soldiers.
(but leave them unscathed)
We will run after you, on your cowardly flight
(But we will let you go)
And we will burn. Oh, how we will burn. We will light a fire so hot, the seas will boil and the sky itself will recoil, as if scalded. We will light a fire so bright, it will outshine the sun and everyone will look away, blinded by the anger and the pain and the beauty.
And from the Fire will come a Child.
And we will name it Hope.
We are coming for you.
We are coming for your children.
(but we will not touch them)
We will riot on your streets
(but no one will be hurt)
We will pillage your towns
(and leave it as it was, unchanged)
We will push aside your defensive soldiers.
(but leave them unscathed)
We will run after you, on your cowardly flight
(But we will let you go)
And we will burn. Oh, how we will burn. We will light a fire so hot, the seas will boil and the sky itself will recoil, as if scalded. We will light a fire so bright, it will outshine the sun and everyone will look away, blinded by the anger and the pain and the beauty.

i think this may be your best yet.
It's stunning the way every line is delicatly phrased, and the quiet hints at what is coming in the parantheses which is revealed at the end that they are coming to give hope, not to destroy. (Sorry i know im giving a bit of a critque here)
You're right, hope will save us all.
i kind of have mixed feelings about this blog. On the one hand, I seem to be the only person who reads and comments regularly which i like because it's like having a beautiful little book to myself, but on the other hand I want more people to read this!!
Thank you for your kind comments, all of them.
I quite like that no one reads it. It makes it... quieter.
